Fans come out to play at the polo
WITH the mercury hitting 30c in Windsor yesterday, the well-heeled guests at the Cartier Queen’s Cup polo final struggled to maintain their composure.
Despite being handed a fan, Dutch supermodel Lara Stone pulled a face in the heat. The 33year-old former wife of comedian David Walliams had tried to keep cool in a striking silver floral dress, with her hair pulled back. Flamehaired fellow mannequin Lily Cole, 29, sported a colourful summery look in a floral dress, matched with tortoiseshell sunglasses.
Charles Delevingne, property developer father of hard-partying models Cara and Poppy, roared with laughter as he joked with Susan Sangster, who was accused of being a ‘career divorcee’ by her fourth ex-husband, Stuart Crossley. Charles’s wife, Pandora, was conspicuous by her absence.
The sweltering heat seemed to subdue even the spirited sisters Lady Violet and Lady Alice Manners, daughters of the Duke of Rutland, who hid demurely behind their fans.
Lady Alice wailed: ‘If only I had a man to hold up a parasol for me!’
