Irn-Bru is ours... and I will drink to that!

STOP all the clocks. Irn-Bru isn’t Scottish. It was first invented in the US, under the suspicious­ly similar title Iron Brew. A nation mourns. But does it? Whether it was invented here or not, Scots have made Irn-Bru their own, much like haggis, Scotch eggs, and prattling on about independen­ce on social media sites.

It may not have been made originally in Scotland, but as long as it’s still made from girders, I doubt we’ll stop drinking it.
