VICTIMS: END THE RIP-OFF DEALS

-

FURIOUS victims of the leasehold scandal have urged the Government to ‘stop the abuses’ hurting thousands of families.

In the Queen’s Speech this week, Theresa May pledged to ‘look at the sale of leasehold homes and onerous ground rents’ – some of which are collected by vulture investors and double every decade. There was also a pledge to launch a consultation aimed at boosting transparency and fairness.

Katie Kendrick, of the National Leasehold Campaign, said it was a ‘huge win’ for victims. But the 37-year-old (pictured)

added: ‘While the campaign welcomes what was said within the Queen’s Speech regarding leasehold, words are simply not enough.

‘Campaigners have been fighting the injustices for years but nothing has changed. Developers and management companies have been getting away with far too much for far too long and it must stop.’
