Ex-boss may lose bonuses

-

TROUBLED Mitie could strip its former chief executive of £1.7m in bonuses and other awards because of the outsourcing firm’s terrible performance. Ruby McGregor-Smith resigned as chief executive in December after nine years at the helm and 15 years on the board. In 2016 she took home more than £2.4m, including £1.7m in bonuses and long-term incentive rewards.

Mitie issued three profits warnings in the four months between September last year and January as the company plunged into crisis.

In its annual report yesterday, Mitie said its ‘remuneration committee will determine what rights may be available to the company to recover the bonus and other awards made to each of Ruby McGregor-Smith and [financial director] Suzanne Baxter’ in the 2016 financial year.
