Even modestly dressed, Nic’s got X Factor
AS ONE of the Pussycat Dolls she was famous for sporting racy outfits while performing raunchy dance routines.
But Nicole Scherzinger opted for a more modest look in Edinburgh yesterday.
The 38-year-old wore a chic pastel blue blouse and skin-tight black jeans as she arrived in the capital for the Scottish auditions of the 14th series of The X Factor.
Miss Scherzinger and fellow judges Louis Walsh and Alesha Dixon were welcomed to the Assembly Rooms by the show’s host Dermot O’Leary, who mimed a tune on the bagpipes as a piper played out of sight.
Simon Cowell arrived separately as Walsh admitted it was ‘about time’ the show had a Scottish winner.
He said: ‘All we need to find today is two or three great people. Maybe we’ll have a winner from here – it’s about time.’
Walsh said his favourite thing about Scotland was its ‘real people and real fun’ in the auditions.
Mis-Teeq singer Miss Dixon, who is standing in for Sharon Osbourne, said: ‘Edinburgh’s such a beautiful place, it’s always lovely to be back.
‘I love the passion in Scotland and I know there will be a great turnout today.’
The next set of auditions will be in London, before the successful acts are taken away to boot camp to begin their training.
The X Factor is set to return on ITV at the end of August.
