Sweets and chocs with a boozy twist!

-

EVER fancied a tipple or two without fear of waking up with a hangover? Well, now you can — with boozy sweets. From prosecco-infused gummy bears to gin & tonic flavoured artisan chocolate, you can mix your drinks, so long as you’ve got a sweet tooth, says Femail drinks expert HELEN McGINN. Possibly the only sweet to ever have a waiting list, the Yes Way Rose bento box (£15.95, Harvey Nichols) contains cult Provence rose wine brand Whispering Angel. Beautifully packaged, the box comes with two smaller boxes inside, one with rose-shaped sweets and the other, gummy bears. I can’t taste the wine — but who cares when they look this fabulous. Prosecco always seems to be the flavour of the month, so why not try some Prosecco Gummies (£4.55, John Lewis). Packaged in a divine mini sweetie jar, they look like bright little jewels. Taste-wise they’re delightfully tangy, not sweet and sickly.

If you prefer a sharper kick, try the Coco Chocolatier Gin & Tonic Chocolate Bar (£4.49, Lakeland). Made by an Edinburgh-based artisan chocolatier, this gets its G&T flavour from juniper, lemon and lime oils. And it totally works: the chocolate is dark and decadent, with the gin flavours hitting the taste buds right after the chocolate coats the tongue.

You can even buy boozy popcorn — Joe & Seph’s Mojito-flavoured Gourmet Popcorn (£4 for 70g, joeandsephs.co.uk) is dangerously moreish with a lime and mint tang. Made with real spirit, it definitely tastes more grown-up than your average popcorn. Helen’s book, The Knackered Mother’s Wine Club, is out now (£7.99, Pan Macmillan)
