You’ve got potential, Annie Lennox!

- By Alexander Holmes

SHE has won eight Brit awards, four Grammys and has sold 80million albums worldwide.

So it’s easy to understand Annie Lennox’s surprise at being asked to submit music for consideration to be played on a radio station.

The 62-year-old singer shared a picture of a message from the station on Facebook, writing: ‘I think I’m in with a chance ??!!!’

Kylie, a Los Angeles radio station’s ‘new music co-ordinator’, states that she ‘came across Lennox’s music online’. She adds: ‘I really like what I heard.’

Kylie then explains that she ‘finds artists who I think have potential and get them in rotation on our station’.

Lennox, who grew up in Aberdeen, was asked to send over an MP3 of her latest single. The unamed station’s programme director would then ‘see if he’s interested in putting it in rotation’.

The Eurythmics star, who along with Dave Stewart had a string of smash hits in the 80s, was also asked about what ‘support campaign’ she has for her latest single.

Kylie then goes on to explain that the radio station is connected to an artist development firm who could help get Lennox get global airplay.

The singer has also won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for her music.

She forged a hugely successful solo career and has won countless awards for her charity and humanitarian work.

She was awarded an OBE in 2011.
