Teen blackmailed girls into filming sex videos online

- By Gordon Currie

A student left girls suicidal after forcing them to make sexually explicit videos for him.

Glen Wilson blackmailed his victims after grooming them on social media sites.

the privately educated st Andrews university student persuaded victims as young as 12 to send him explicit images and films which he offered to share with other paedophiles.

He forced one girl to film herself on skype while he set up the social media site to let another mystery user watch her. Wilson initially pretended to be a similar age to his victims but in less than a year he sent 450 messages threatening to expose victims across the UK.

He left his victims terrified by threatening to send explicit images they sent him to their parents and friends.

Fiscal depute John Malpass said Wilson told victims: ‘do what I ask or I send. Block me, report me, tell your parents – and I press the send button.

‘everyone you know will see everything.’

Wilson, who was educated at the independent High school of dundee, targeted children from as far afield as London, Wales, edinburgh and Glasgow.

At Perth sheriff Court yesterday sheriff Gillian Wade expressed concern his case was not dealt with at the High Court.

Wilson, of Longforgan, Perthshire, where he lives with his parents in a mansion recently on sale for £1.25million, admitted revenge porn extortion charges and distributing child abuse images.

the 18-year-old, who used numerous aliases on social media sites, admitted 23 charges between september 2015 and June 2016.

He had faced 49 charges but the Crown accepted his plea

to a lesser number to avoid his victims coming to court.

He admitted carrying out sextortion offences against three 12-year-olds, two 13year-olds, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old girl.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing abuse images involving children aged three to eight years old.

sheriff Wade told him those alone would be enough to attract a custodial sentence.

sentence was deferred for reports and Watson was placed on the sex Offenders Register.
