GET FIT IN 15 MINUTES

what to do

IF YOU want to slim your hips quickly, try the seated V, or V-sit, says Nadya Fairweather (u-shape.co.uk) — it takes very little time to notice the impact of this exercise.

Sit down with your fingertips touching the ground beside you for balance. With your legs bent, bring one leg up off the floor, then lift the other one to join it. Aim to get your feet up as high as your knees. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds and then rest.

Now repeat — if you are feeling strong and stable enough, take your fingers off the floor and balance without the support.

Try doing four sets, holding the position for 20 seconds and resting for ten seconds. Work up to eight sets, and keep your fingertips on the ground if you are feeling wobbly.

what to eat

EAT plenty of foods that boost concentration, recommends Shona Wilkinson (shonawilkinson.com). Dark chocolate is a great place to start, as it contains flavanols — the antioxidants that improve blood flow to the brain. However, make sure it contains at least 70 per cent cocoa. Sardines are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, key for keeping you focused. So say goodbye to brain fog by having a tin of sardines with vegetables for your lunch. You can also add turmeric to your food to improve your brain’s oxygen intake and stay more alert. Try turmeric tea for a deliciously healthy afternoon break.
