£163million PR supremo Freud bags a new beauty
WHAT is his secret? Just days after Matthew Freud’s heiress ex-wife, Elisabeth Murdoch, remarried, the public relations boss is said to be squiring a beautiful young actress.
Friends say the great-grandson of psychoanalysis founder Sigmund Freud is courting Janet Montgomery, who is a cool 22 years his junior.
‘They are an item and have been going out for some time,’ one tells me.
Freud, 53, who has an estimated fortune of £163million, according to The Sunday Times Rich List, declines to comment on his new friendship but, significantly, Janet is one of just 145 people he deigns to follow on social media.
The 31-year-old actress, who is from Bournemouth, has played a love interest of King Arthur in the children’s drama Merlin and appeared in several U.S. series including Entourage.
She has been busy sharing photos with her fans of a five-star holiday she’s been enjoying at the ‘eco-resort’ of Soneva Fushi in the Maldives.
Describing the tourist destination as ‘paradise’, Janet posted numerous pictures of her in a range of swimwear and posing with wildlife including a jellyfish.
Sadly, she has shared none of her new beau.

Elisabeth Murdoch, 48, tied the knot last month with Turner Prizewinning artist Keith Tyson, 47, in an opulent do at Elisabeth’s home near Burford in the Cotswolds.
Before meeting Janet, Freud had enjoyed a brief relationship with heiress Jemima Goldsmith, sister of Tory MP Zac and daughter of late billionaire Sir James.
His marriage to Elisabeth, with whom he has two children, broke down in 2014, 13 years after they married at Blenheim Palace. It only emerged during the divorce that Freud had secretly fathered a love child more than two years before.
The pair had been the ultimate media couple, with their 22-bedroom mansion, Burford Priory, the epicentre of the Chipping Norton Set.
The nephew of celebrated late artist Lucian Freud, Matthew was previously married to Caroline Hutton, with whom he has two children.
She jumped out of the frying pan, into the fire by becoming Earl Spencer’s second wife — but they divorced after six years.
