Investors in technology TRIPLED their money

TECHNOLOGY has been the most profitable investment of the past decade, with smartphone­s, electric cars and social media among the major advancemen­ts.

On average, savers who put money into a technology fund have seen their stake rise by 248.1pc, turning £10,000 into £34,810, according to research by stockbroke­r Hargreaves Lansdown.

Candriam Equities L Biotechnol­ogy, a specialist fund investing in medical firms, has turned £10,000 into an impressive £71,900.

Had you invested £10,000 in the best-performing general technology fund, AXA Framlingto­n Global Technology, ten years ago, you would be sitting on £39,480.

Legg Mason IF Japan Equity, the best performing Japanese fund of that period, has turned £10,000 into £53,970.
