Murphy sees off local hero
SHAUN MURPHY, the world No5, battled to a 4-2 win over home player Pandurangaiah to reach the first round proper of snooker’s Indian Open. Scots Alan McManus and Anthony McGill also made it safely through the preliminary stage. In round one, Graeme Dott defeated Jack Lisowski 4-1, while Tom Ford surprisingly lost 4-3 to China’s Tian Pengfei.
