‘A really hot, intense fireball above my head’

-

ONE victim took shocking photos of his charred head and posted them online.

Peter Crowley, 36, of Sutton, said: ‘I heard a large bang. It was a really hot, intense fireball above my head.

‘I’ve got charred hair and burn marks to the top of my head, but there were a lot of people a lot worse than me.

‘There was a gentleman who was wearing a puffer jacket that had completely melted. He was physically shaking and he needed to be assisted. He had burns across his face as well.

‘I would say roughly about 20 who had physical injuries. Everyone just ran off the train. It was like nothing I have ever seen before – sheer panic.’

Mr Crowley, who posted photos of his head on Twitter, told LBC Radio: ‘My initial thought was that the whole train would blow up. It was a terrifying experience. I am lucky I got away with just a bit of charred hair.’
