No more treats for you today, Buddy!

-

AS ALL pet owners know, dogs will do almost anything to get a biscuit.

But this little puppy – called Buddy – was so eager for an extra treat that he ended up getting his head stuck in the jar.

The pug and chihuahua cross-breed puppy – known as a chug – got into trouble as he tried to eat up the final crumbs in the jar at home in Southampton on Sunday.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said Buddy’s owner initially used washing up liquid in a bid to free him but this failed.

Animal rescue tactical adviser Anton Phillips said: ‘This was an unusual job and it was strange being able to see the animal’s doleful expression through the glass. I was keen not to risk breaking the glass as this could have injured the animal.

‘I pulled back the loose skin and positioned him so I could get one ear out then the other. I have dealt with a lot of animals over the years. If they can get it in, I can get it out.’
