SALVAGE JOB

Dorrans is saviour as Rangers grab point

- By JOHN McGARRY

GRAHAM DORRANS was forced to salvage a point for Rangers against ten-man Partick Thistle with a late wonder strike at Firhill last night.

But Pedro Caixinha’s men are set to lose further ground on Premiership leaders Celtic and Aberdeen who host Ross County and Kilmarnock respectively today.

Alfredo Morelos gave the visitors a dream start when he fired them ahead in 19 minutes with his eighth goal in the last six games.

But that was cancelled out by Blair Spittal’s free-kick before skipper Chris Erskine put Thistle ahead on the hour mark. Erskine was then to see red for a wild challenge on Morelos before Dorrans hit a 77th-minute equaliser.

Ibrox skipper Lee Wallace is an injury doubt for next Saturday’s first Old Firm game of the campaign after limping off early in the match.
