A MURDER suggests a conspiracy theory in this week’s new-toFreeview episode, one that Castle is all too excited to imagine. The case soon takes a turn that brings even him crashing back down to earth, but at least the unfolding situation may allow Esposito to make a new friend.

FUN & GAMES Taskmaster, 9pm, Dave

A FAIRLY standard task kicks it all off this week, as the comics are challenged to throw a coconut as far as they can — using some kind of machine. But what qualifies as a machine? The grey area of the wording becomes important this week, while a later team task involves Aisling Bea and Sally Phillips having a tremendous time.

MARATHON MAN Breaking 2, 9pm, National Geographic

CAN a person run a marathon in under two hours? Three athletes attempt to do just that and set a new world record in this inspiring new film. ‘In my heart and mind, I believe it is possible,’ says Eliud Kipchoge (pictured), who talks with a glint in his eye that makes you want him to succeed.

VALLEYS DRAMA Stella, 9pm, Sky 1

MICHAEL (Patrick Baladi) is happy — Stella’s coming with him to Dubai, he has a fatherly moment with Ben, and they’ve got little Holly to bring up. Only . . . it turns out Holly might not be his. For everyone’s sake, especially the viewers’, hopefully Stella will tell him that soon, and we can all move on.

ROAD MOVIE American Honey, 9pm, Sky Select

BRITISH director Andrea Arnold takes this heady U.S. adventure in unexpected directions. A young magazine sales crew lurch from town to town, led by Riley Keough and Shia LaBeouf.

GANGSTER FLICK Legend, 9pm, Film4

TOM HARDY stars as both Kray twins in a drama that presents Reggie as the softer of the two, and Ronnie as truly psychopath­ic. Their life of violence and extortion is seen through the eyes of Reggie’s wife, Frances (Emily Browning).

HOSPITAL COMEDY Porters, 10pm, Dave

RUTGER HAUER — yes, Rutger Hauer, of Blade Runner — co-stars in Dave’s new sitcom, set among the porters in a hospital. Kelsey Grammer and Mat Horne also pop up in this opening episode, but it’s Hauer (pictured far left with Jo Joyner, Ed Easton, Susan Wokoma and Claudia Jessie) as an unpredicta­ble German with a fondness for the music of the Backstreet Boys, who lifts it into the extraordin­ary.
