Trump White House an ‘adult day care centre’

A SENIOR Republican said he feared Donald Trump had set the US ‘on the path to World War III’ and had turned the White House into an ‘adult day care centre’.

Senator Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate foreign relations committee, said the President treated his office like a reality show.

He added: ‘I know for a fact that every day at the White House, it’s a situation of trying to contain him.’

His devastating remarks came just days after US secretary of state Rex Tillerson refused to deny that he had called Mr Trump a ‘moron’.

The outburst by Tennessee senator Mr Corker came after Mr Trump attacked him, saying he ‘didn’t have the guts’ to run for re-election.

Mr Corker hit back, saying: ‘It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care centre. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.’

He said his concerns about Mr Trump were shared by virtually every Republican in the Senate. And Washington insiders insisted his views were common among some of the President’s closest aides.

Although he did not elaborate on his ‘World War III’ claim, he appeared to be referring to North Korea, where Mr Trump has threatened to ‘unleash fire and fury’. ÷Russia used Google to meddle in the US election by buying adverts on the search engine and on YouTube, which it owns, the tech giant has found. Facebook has already shown congressional investigators around 3,000 adverts bought by Russia.
