THIS is how to deal with an unwanted hand on your knee at a dinner party (Letters).

I was sat between my host’s uncle and a senior Naval officer. The uncle’s hand came wandering under the table and each time I pushed it back it would return. To my horror, a hand then came wandering from the other side. I put down my cutlery, reached under the table and joined the two wandering hands together. Problem solved. DEE HINTON, N. W. London.
