Chief calls full time

-

THE boss of Goals is to quit after just 17 months at the firm.

Mark Jones is to leave the five-a-side football operator for another private sector role.

Jones, the former boss of Grosvenor Casinos, was appointed in May last year, replacing chief executive Keith Rogers.

Goals has struggled to turn around its business amid a slowdown linked to underperforming sites which have not received the required level of arena investment, and pressure on consumer spending.

Last month it posted a 25.7pc fall in profits to £2.6m in the first half.

Jones will stay on until a successor is found.
