Appeal for witnesses after two women die on roads

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two women were killed in separate accidents on Scotland’s roads.

Margaret Lambie, 75, died on Sunday, two days after her mobility scooter was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Astra on Greenside Street in Alloa, Clackmanna­nshire.

Sergeant Ruth Aitchison, of Forth Valley’s Road Policing Unit, said her family and friends were being offered support in the wake of the accident and urged anyone who witnessed the collision, or had informatio­n about it, to come forward.

Police in Fife, meanwhile, asked for witnesses after a fatal accident at the Riverside Retail Park in Leven on Sunday.

A 68-year-old pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service after a collision involving a white Mazda 2 TS2 at around 3.45pm.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair, of Fife’s Road Policing Unit, said

‘Beautiful, loving and caring’

she was seeking witnesses and any footage of either the accident itself or the Mazda driving around the area.

Meanwhile, the family of a woman who has died following a road crash earlier in the month have said they are ‘devastated’ by their loss.

Sharon Wilson, of Walkerburn, near Peebles, in the Borders, had been involved in a collision with a black Mercedes A150 after getting out of her own vehicle on the A72 near the village at about 11am on October 16.

Her family said: ‘We are devastated at the loss of our beautiful, loving and caring Sharon. She will be sorely missed.’

Police s ay enquiries are continuing.

And officers in Edinburgh have appealed for witnesses after a 15-year-old girl was injured in a hit-and-run in Craigs Road, in the west of the city, during yesterday’s morning rush hour.
