Sangster’s race to the altar
WITH the confetti barely settled after the Ibiza nuptials of racing magnate Robert Sangster’s son Max, another family wedding beckons.
Max’s brother, bloodstock agentracing manager Sam, 30, has proposed to his girlfriend jewellery designer Madeleine Crewe-Read, 29, in Barbados (pictured).
‘It’s just wonderful,’ Madeleine’s mother, Belinda Scott, tells me. ‘He’s adorable.’ Sam is the son of glamorous blonde socialite Susan Sangster, who was unkindly labelled a ‘career divorcee’ after amassing a fortune through her four marriages. Madeleine is the niece of art expert David Crewe-Read, who has advised Andrew Lloyd Webber on his painting purchases. Sam’s father was just as interested in two-legged fillies. He was married three times, sired five sons and one daughter and had a very public fling with Jerry Hall while she was married to Mick Jagger. Of her ‘revenge affair’ Jerry declared: ‘Robert can buy him out ten times over.’
