Shameless Indulgence

THE cult of the Christmas candle has now reached fever pitch, with everyone from Diptyque to blogger Zoella releasing festive limited editions this year. My favourite, though, has to be Jo Malone’s.

The Green Almond & Redcurrant Christmas Candle (£120, jomalone.co.uk) has a combination of tart redcurrant and citrus notes. But as it burns you begin to smell the green almond mixed with cedar wood and tonka bean. The result is a warm, wintery fragrance.

The packaging may surprise die-hard Jo Malone fans — the green and pink stripes are a million miles away from the classic black and cream design. But that’s exactly what makes it the perfect gift to treasure.
