MEALKITT

-

£39.99, amazon.co.uk A medleY of scoops and cups for each meal’s allocation of protein, carbohydrate and fat-rich foods. The fill line varies according to your gender and whether you want to lose, maintain or gain weight. EXPERT VERDICT: The manufacturer says it has calibrated the kit to provide 2,000 calories for women wanting to maintain weight and 1,400 for those wanting to lose some — which is in line with official advice.

For weight maintenance, the kit measures out proportions similar to those of a healthy mediterranean diet — with 30 per cent of calories coming from fat, 20 per cent from protein and 40 per cent from carbohydrates. But, for weight loss, mealKitt pushes the user towards a faddy low-carb regimen, with 30 per cent fat, 45 per cent protein, and just 20 per cent carbs.

There are also suggested recipes online, but when i randomly selected breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes from the mealKitt website, they sometimes only added up to 665 calories for the day. it means you’d need to add 735 calories in snacks to get to 1,400, which is a huge amount and there is no advice on this. i wouldn’t recommend it as a weight-loss aid, but it seems sound if you want to maintain your weight.
