Snappy WAG fast becoming baddie of Celebrity jungle
FOOTBALLER’S wife Rebekah Vardy has been criticised by viewers of I’m A Celebrity after she barked orders and refused to help a fellow campmate during a gruelling trial.
The 35-year-old wife of England striker Jamie Vardy told a struggling Shappi Khorsandi to ‘stop talking and swim’ as she was begging for assistance on Monday night.
The pair put themselves forward for a Battle of the Sexes challenge in which they went head-to-head with Jamie Lomas and Dennis Wise to try to secure a feast for their team.
Before starting the trial for the ITV show, Mrs Vardy said to her team mate ‘Let’s just enjoy ourselves’.
But during the final part of the challenge, the pair had to swim across a lake while holding keys attached to logs to unlock a flag.
As Mrs Vardy swam ahead, telling her companion to move faster, Mrs Khorsandi struggled and called out: ‘My helmet is strangling me and I can’t see’. However, rather than stopping to check she was all right, Mrs Vardy shouted back: ‘Stop talking and swim.’
Miss Khorsandi then pleaded: ‘I can’t, I need help. You need to help me now’, but Mrs Vardy just continued with the challenge.
The pair lost, and as they returned to camp Mrs Vardy was quick to tell the others Miss Khorsandi was the reason they had failed, saying she ‘was lagging behind massively’. But viewers at home were not impressed.
‘I’ve never hated anyone more than Rebekah Vardy’, wrote one viewer, before adding: ‘How... arrogant and bitchy is she, poor Shappi.’
Others criticised her ‘ugly nature’ and branded her a ‘nasty bully’.
