Victims of Weinstein shouldn’t have gone to his room, says Pamela

HARVEY Weinstein’s alleged victims ‘knew what they were getting into’ when they agreed to go to his hotel room, Pamela Anderson has said.

The Baywatch star said the movie mogul – who has been accused of a string of sexual assaults – was known to be ‘someone to avoid’.

Speaking on American TV, the 50-yearold said: ‘It was common knowledge that certain people or certain producers in Hollywood are people to avoid privately.

‘You know what you’re getting into if you go to a hotel room, alone’.

Miss Anderson said it was ‘common sense’ not to go to private meetings with men like Weinstein. Even if a meeting had been set up by an agent, it was ‘no excuse’ to presume it would be safe, she said.

She continued: ‘I learnt not to put myself in those positions. When I came to Hollywood, I had a lot of offers to do private auditions and things that just made no sense, just common sense.

‘Don’t go into a hotel room alone, if someone answers the door in a bathrobe, leave – things that are common sense.

‘But I know Hollywood is very seductive and people want to be famous and sometimes you think you’re going to be safe with an adult in the room.’

The mother-of-two, whose career was launched with the help of photoshoots for Playboy magazine, revealed she had fought off inappropriate advances from men long before the Weinstein revelations emerged.

She said: ‘I’ve been offered lots of things – a condo and a Porsche – to be someone’s number one girl. I just naively said, “Well there must be a number two then, so I’m not interested”. Money, homes, roles in movies – and I just didn’t want to do it that way. I had no desire.’

In her interview on NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today, Miss Anderson also described how Weinstein told her ‘you’ll never work in this town again’ after she refused to work alongside trained dogs on a film in 2008 because of her role in animal activism.

Dozens of actresses including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cara Delevingne have made allegations of harassment and assault against Weinstein.

The producer has denied all allegations, claiming he never engaged in ‘nonconsensual sexual conduct’.
