We can achieve anything if we pull together

-

In the past, the British have shown great skill in pulling together in times of war and in peaceful times, manufacturing amazing giants of engineering, from steam locomotives to ocean liners. today, we appear to have lost the ability to come together as one and, regardless of what the majority want and voted for, many will do all they are able to reverse the result. Surely, we should work together for whatever we decide democratically. It seems to me we have become a very selfish nation, pursuing the philosophy that says: ‘Regardless of what you want, I will do all I am able to turn the tain a healthy weight, but only a fifth achieve this.

A lovely gesture, underscoring how people from across the UK united for this hugely important project.

The best medicine

It would appear that the business of leaving the european Union is going down the same road of self-defeating compromises and complications. Despite the wishes of the majority, it is obvious that some will do all they can to create havoc and crash the entire enterprise. there is a great deal of reference to democracy and the will of the people, but there are many who have not the slightest interest in the democratic approach — unless it agrees with their own view.
