MIND TRICKS TO HELP YOU

-

JANUARY can be a tough time of year. With the festive buzz long gone and the bleak weather hardly likely to lift your spirits, it’s easy to see why, after a few days of good intentions, some people fall into old habits.

So what separates those who make their January lifestyle into a weight-loss success and those who ditch it before February dawns?

From our experience, it’s down to having a plan — and remembering just why you have embarked on any diet and lifestyle changes.

Were you keen to drop a dress size for a wedding or party? Perhaps you felt your health could do with a reboot? Or maybe you just wanted to be able to run around with your children or grandchildren and rediscover a youthful pep.

Don’t forget how much this issue affected your life last year. Write a list and pin it to the fridge, or display a picture of yourself that sums up a moment you wish could have been different, because of what you weighed or how you felt.

Capitalise on the feeling that this new year really can be a new start. And make the most of how easy and varied the plan offered by Weight Watchers Flex is.

Even if you’re a seasoned dieter, remind yourself that with this plan, you needn’t be bored by the food on offer, nor is it likely you will be tormented by hunger pangs. It can work for you.

Be kind to yourself. If you do fall off the wagon once or twice, don’t give up. Instead, identify what made you deviate from your plan — perhaps you felt sad, or hadn’t slept enough the night before and needed an energy boost. Think of ways to stop it happening.

Even when January is over, and the fervour of a New Year resolution has faded, there’s never a bad time of year to make changes, too.
