OLIVER STONE’S marathon examination of the events and confusion that surrounded the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 is a tour de force. Part conspiracy thriller, part courtroom drama, it stars Kevin Costner as a lawyer digging for the truth over several years, with Gary Oldman as Lee Harvey Oswald.
