Game of Thrones Rose: I’m too busy to be bride
IT is usually one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life.
But aristocratic actress Rose Leslie insists she is simply too busy to plan her forthcoming wedding.
Miss Leslie, 30, is engaged to Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington. The pair announced the news in a notice in The Times newspaper last year.
However, in a magazine interview, the actress – daughter of Sebastian, Aberdeenshire chief of Clan Leslie, and his wife Candy, of Warthill Castle in Old Rayne – admits she is trying to fit in the wedding between screen roles.
Speaking to Town and Country Magazine, she said: ‘I haven’t tackled it. There’s just too much to do.’
Miss Leslie, 30, who stars in the latest series of the CBS drama The Good Fight, met Mr Harington on the set of Game Of Thrones, in which they played the wildling Ygritte and the warrior Jon Snow – two enemies who became lovers.
Mr Harington has already dismissed suggestions of a Game Of Thrones-themed wedding, telling The Jonathan Ross Show: ‘No. There is absolutely no chance of me convincing her of that.’
According to Mr Harington, the proposal took place ‘in the country’ and ‘under this beautiful night sky’.
Miss Leslie, who found fame as servant girl Gwen Dawson in Downton Abbey, is said to want a traditional wedding ‘with kilts and bagpipes’.
The couple have been dating since 2012, but have remained notoriously private about their love life. Mr Harington told The Times that they ‘never’ posed with fans for selfies together because ‘it makes our relationship feel like... puppets. Like we’re a walking show.’
The couple live together in a £1.75million seven-bedroom mansion in East Anglia.
Their eight-acre home boasts a medieval-style moat as well as a swimming pool to help unwind after a hard day on set.
