Fashion upstart takings double

-

FAST fashion retailer Boohoo doubled sales as young people snapped up its affordable styles.

Boohoo, which targets shoppers aged between 16 and 24, reported record business in the run-up to Christmas as it upgraded its sales growth forecast for the full year to 90pc, up from 80pc.

Sales increased in the four months to December 31 as Boohoo benefited from the acquisition of rival online clothing brands Nasty Gal and Pretty Little Thing.

The latter brand has launched a line with reality TV socialite Kourtney Kardashian.

Joint chief executives Mahmud Kamani and Carol Kane said: ‘The Black Friday period was our most successful ever and we traded well throughout the period.’
