Mum’s poignant praise for NHS

-

AS CRITICISM of the NHS reaches new heights, with claims that patients are dying in hospital corridors due to lack of beds, we should listen to someone with the most pressing reason to air her views.

Heather Teale’s beautiful daughter Bethany, 18, died after catching flu and developing pneumonia. She was airlifted to the intensive care unit but nothing could be done.

Yet Heather has nothing but praise for the health service: ‘Bethany was given the best possible treatment from a team of eight people for over two hours, but despite their best efforts, she didn’t make it.’ Bear her words in mind the next time some opportunist indulges in gratuitous NHS bashing.
