SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND
YOUR GUIDE TO SCOTLAND’S BIG MATCHES
MAIN EVENT Dunfermline v Dundee United
AFTER their 6-1 hammering at the hands of Falkirk, United must bounce back or risk losing even more ground on St Mirren. Csaba Laszlo will expect to make it three wins from three games against the Pars this term. PROBABLE TEAMS: DUNFERMLINE (4-4-2): Robinson; Williamson, Mvoto, Ashcroft, Talbot; Paton, Wedderburn, Shiels, Cardle; McManus, Clark. DUNDEE UTD (4-2-3-1): Lewis; Mason, Quinn, Scobbie, Robson; Flood, Slater; King, Stanton, Keatings; McDonald. Referee: Bobby Madden.
Brechin v Livvy
BOTH clubs came up from League One last season and have had contrasting seasons to say the least. Livvy sit pretty in fifth, while Brechin are still winless and that run looks likely to continue today, with the Lions unbeaten in the last seven meetings.
Dumbarton v St Mirren
DUMBARTON would have preferred different opposition today to the in-form league leaders. Not all is lost for the Sons, though. While Saints are unbeaten on their last three visits, the Buddies have only won once in their last five games at the Rock.
Inverness CT v Queen of the South
A TIMELY return to form has seen Queens find themselves in a play-off position and the Palmerston club will have no intention of relinquishing that spot. However, trips to Inverness have proved tough for Queens, with Caley Thistle losing just one of the last eight Highland meetings.
Morton v Falkirk
IN the two previous meetings, the team in the away dressing room has left victorious. That could change today, though, with Falkirk having played played in midweek. Should Morton take advantage, it would be manager Jim Duffy’s fourth win in 14 games against Falkirk as a boss.
