THIS IS WHAT 64 LOOKS LIKE

- BY FLORENCE SCORDOULIS

LeSLey Reynolds lives in London with her husband, Dr Aamer Khan, with whom she co-founded the Harley Street Skin Clinic. She has three children, aged 39, 34 and 25.

OLD SCHOOL VOLUME

MY VERY fine hair has thinned with age. It’s a real pain, as many fancy ‘volumising’ products tend to flatten it. So, I stick to a simple cheat my granny taught me: a spritz of water with an Alka-Seltzer tablet (£3.99, boots.com) dissolved in it adds amazing lift and texture — a bit like a salt spray, but less sticky.

PERFECT PORES

OVER the past few years, I’ve become obsessed with face masks — using them five times a week. When I don’t, I get fewer compliments. My favourite is Rosina’s Kale & Pomegranate Face Mask (£25, rosinaslotionspotions.

com). I wear it for 15 minutes while drinking my morning tea; or leave on my hands and arms, for an overnight moisture boost.

TRY A ‘TWEAKMENT’

I BELIEVE that prevention is better than cure. I had my first ‘tweakment’ aged 34: radiofrequency to firm my jowls. Since then, I’ve had cheek fillers and thread lifts. When I hit 50, I chose to brave an eye lift, as I needed a little extra help. Sometimes it’s worth going down a surgical route.

AVOID JOGGER’S FACE

I’VE worked in cosmetic surgery for more than 30 years. Too much running can be terribly ageing: the pounding seems to stretch and sag skin in the face and chest. Fat loss can leave you looking gaunt, which is worsened by sun damage from exercising outside. Each morning I do 20 minutes of gentle stretch and mobility exercises to stay in shape.

POWER OF HIGHLIGHTING

THE right make-up can mimic a facelift. I love Mineral Earth foundation (£30, mineralearth.co.uk). It sits on the skin rather than being absorbed, so doesn’t need re-applying — ideal if you’re experiencing hot flushes. Then I dab highlighter in the outer corners of my mouth and above my brows. It works wonders to subtly lift my face.
