£1,000 iPhone that does it all... but won’t take calls!
IT’S SO advanced you can unlock the screen by looking at it, but Apple’s latest smartphone seems to be struggling with the most basic of tasks... taking a call.
Users say the £1,000 iPhone X has a glitch that makes it difficult to answer an incoming call. Hundreds of owners have complained on Apple forums about a delay between the handset ringing and the screen coming to life.
Many say the device takes up to ten seconds to ‘wake up’ before they can tap the screen button to answer a call. The problem is leaving owners frustrated by missed or abandoned calls. One user wrote on Apple’s support page: ‘Whenever I receive an incoming call on my iPhone X, ringtones start but the display comes on after 6-8 seconds.’
Another posted: ‘I can often not see an incoming call coming, can only hear it! At other times, there is a significant delay.’ Apple said it was ‘looking into these reports’.
Apple chief executive Tim Cook insists customer satisfaction for the £1,000 handset is ‘off the charts’.
The phone, released in September, has an array of sophisticated features including facial recognition technology. However, Apple has faced a series of recent setbacks.
In one case, the firm introduced software updates to some older iPhones to extend battery life – but it slowed the handsets down.
