e-sPorTs broadcaste­r Gfinity has struck a deal to air its events on Facebook.

The social network will broadcast weekly instalment­s of video game tournament­s for the popular FIFA 18, rocket league and street Fighter titles.

Gfinity said the deal would last until at least the end of this year. Neville Upton, chief executive, said: ‘This pioneering deal will enable us to accelerate our plans for growth.’

Patrick Chapman, manager of e-sports partnershi­ps at Facebook, said: ‘We are excited to support Gfinity in their internatio­nal expansion.’
