METRO Bank’s boss has sold £2.5m of stock – days after the small lender’s price hit an alltime high.

Craig Donaldson sold 63,000 shares at 4017p each, leaving him with a holding worth around £6.4m. The 46year-old is former retail director at Royal Bank of Scotland and took charge of Metro in 2010.

His sale on Thursday came two days after Metro hit an intra-day record of 4052p.

Metro made £10.8m last year, its first annual profit, and has nearly 60 branches.
