NEW QUIRKY SERIES The Dangerous Book For Boys, Amazon Prime

AMAZON’S new series is all about a family reeling from the death of the dad, both financiall­y and emotionall­y. A vein of slapstick runs through a show that frequently breaks off into the fantasies of son Wyatt, who reconnects with his father in a made-up world and learns skills from him that he tries to apply in the real world. A commendabl­y unusual show, even if it doesn’t feel entirely finished.

HE’S BACK! A Series Of Unfortunat­e Events, Netflix

THE return of Netflix’s lively series, which resembles a Tim Burton movie. Neil Patrick Harris (pictured) stars as the comically evil actor Count Olaf, who is still fixated on murdering the Baudelaire orphans. They’re now at school, but surely not out of his evil clutches.

MONSTER MOVIE Jurassic Park, 8pm, Sky Greats

THE first of four films (so far) based on Michael Crichton’s 1990 sci-fi novel. Sam Neill stars as a palaeontol­ogist who steps up when geneticall­y engineered dinosaurs go on the rampage.

SEASON FINALE The Good Doctor, 9pm, Sky Living

FREDDIE HIGHMORE plays the autistic savant surgeon at the heart of this U.S. drama, which marks its season finale tonight. It’s a performanc­e that could so easily have gone wrong, and it’s to Highmore’s great credit that it didn’t.

MODERN CULTURE The Nineties, 9pm, Sky Arts

TWO decades on we can now start to get a handle on what the Nineties meant to us. The first of this highend new U.S. series deals with the TV, and it’s rich pickings — this was the golden era of comedies (Friends, Seinfeld) and arguably HBO’s greatest drama, The Sopranos.

ARENA Bob Dylan — Trouble No More, 10pm, BBC4

IN EXACTLY the kind of project BBC4 should be doing, we see concert footage from when Bob Dylan sang songs as a born-again Christian. The music is interspers­ed with sermons delivered by actor Michael Shannon, to give the feel of a service.
