Queen-in-waiting

-

DISPLAYING elegance, poise and calm, the Duchess of Cambridge is every inch a queen-in-waiting. The Cambridges are the impressive face of the modern monarchy.

I am surprised at the criticism that she was ‘too perfect’ at the photocall outside the Lindo Wing after the birth of the new Prince.

It is ridiculous to compare the normal, everyday experiences of other women after having a new baby when the Duchess’s situation is clearly far removed.

If we want a Royal Family, we must expect regal behaviour and that is exactly what Catherine portrays.

LIZ MORGAN, Newcastle. NO, KATE didn’t look ‘too perfect’ after giving birth for the third time. She looked like a confident woman whose loving eye contact with her husband said it all.

She should be congratulated for making an effort to look stunning. Too many women don a tracksuit as their standard daily dress.

It takes class and incredible discipline to make the effort, albeit with the help of a hairdresser, as Kate did. She has standards, discipline and devotion to her position in life. JEAN MARCROFT, Wirral, Merseyside. HOW many of the mums criticising the Duchess of Cambridge for looking picture perfect have had to pose for photographers and negotiate a flight of steps wearing high heels just a few hours after giving birth?

I felt sorry for her. I bet all she wanted to do was creep out of the back door in loose, comfortable clothes and go home to bed. JOSEPHINE WARD, address supplied.
