STEP BY STEP, HOW THE COUPLE’S BIG DAY WILL UNFOLD

9am 1,200 members of the public who have been invited inside the grounds of Windsor Castle begin arriving, including schoolchildren and representatives of Harry’s charities
2 9.30-11am 600 wedding guests arrive at St George’s Chapel

11.20am The royal arrivals begin. Following protocol, the Queen will be the last member of the Royal Family to arrive

11.45am Harry and his best man Prince William walk from the castle and enter via the West Steps

11.55am Meghan arrives with mother Doria Ragland in one of the Queen’s cars. A number of pageboys and bridesmaids will join her. Her father Thomas Markle will be waiting
6 12 noon Service starts

1pm The newlyweds emerge on to the West Steps and may undertake a mini walkabout among the charity representatives gathered outside

7pm The couple depart for second reception at Frogmore House in the grounds, hosted by Charles

1.30-3.30pm The first wedding reception, held by the Queen in St George’s Hall

1.05pm They begin a 25-minute carriage procession through Windsor and down the Long Walk back to the castle
