Paedophile’s 5 days’ worth of abuse films

A PAEDOPHILE who downloaded more than half a million images of children being abused and almost five days of video footage was jailed yesterday.

When police confronted Bryan Reid, 46, over the indecent images, ranging from babies up to girls of 15, he confessed. Elgin Sheriff Court heard he said: ‘I’m the one who is involved. I always knew I would get caught.’

Sheriff Chris Dixon said: ‘Given the gravity of the offence I see no alternative but to impose a custodial sentence.’

Reid, from Buckie, Moray, was jailed for 22 months. He admitted taking, permitting or making indecent images of children and possessing them.

Detective Constable Carla Breen said: ‘Reid is a depraved individual who had no consideration for the unspeakable and horrific abuse the victims in this case had endured.’
