Demelza splits from Poldark co-star as romance hits rocks

-

AS DEMELZA in the BBC’s hit Sunday night series Poldark, Eleanor Tomlinson’s marriage is a sea of troubles. Off-screen, her love life is just as stormy.

I can disclose that the 26-yearold actress has split up with Harry Richardson, 25, who plays her brother, Drake Carne, in the 18th-century costume drama, which returns next weekend.

‘They are no longer together,’ confirms one of Harry’s friends.

The pair embarked on a passionate romance last year after Harry joined the Poldark team.

They managed to keep their relationship secret from fellow members of the cast and crew while filming in Cornwall, but decided to go public last summer.

Eleanor, who is the daughter of singer Judith Hibbert and actor Malcolm Tomlinson, was pictured kissing Harry in Wimbledon, South-West London, and they were later spotted embracing at a food festival.

It wasn’t Eleanor’s first love affair on the Poldark set. She previously enjoyed a two-year romance with equestrian Ben Atkinson, 24, after he worked as a stunt double for Aidan Turner, who plays her on-screen husband, Ross Poldark.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if Eleanor now struck up a real-life romance with dashing Aidan, 34? The chances seem slim, however, as the Irishman is reportedly engaged to a 24-year-old law graduate, whose identity remains secret.

At least Eleanor remains optimistic about romance.

‘I’m one of those people who loves love,’ she declares. ‘I love that it’s so much fun, and yet a complete pain in the a***.’
