The smart set’s talking about . . . Actress Gala Gordon

-

THERE aren’t many little-known young actresses who could fill a West End playhouse during the half-term holidays, but actress Gala Gordon saw the Soho Theatre packed to the gills with her famous friends.

With the audience including rock musician Noel Gallagher and Hollywood stars Sir Patrick Stewart and Rosamund Pike, the play Blueberry Toast is already the hottest ticket in town.

Gala, 27, who produced the play and performs the leading role, is a close friend of supermodel Cara Delevingne and actress Suki Waterhouse. ‘I always knew I wanted to be an actress,’ she tells me. ‘I’ve always loved stepping into someone else’s shoes.’

Born in London’s Notting Hill to interior designer Patricia MacTaggart and Argentine artist Xavier Botana, Gala went to Guildhall School of Music & Drama after leaving £36,984-a-year Bryanston School in Dorset. Before graduating, she landed a lead role in Three Sisters at The Young Vic.

She has since performed in several stage shows and appeared in Netflix hit The Crown as Christine Keeler, the model in the Profumo affair.

Compared by some to Angelina Jolie with her dark locks, natural pout and sultry voice, Gala is courting Canadian dancer Nathan Mitchell, who played Kate Moss’s lover in a perfume advert.

Just don’t expect her night to end when the curtain falls. ‘I love going out in Soho,’ she says. ‘The arcade’s open ’til 2am and you can get ice cream at midnight. What more could you want?’
