Chef robbed by thug on moped

-

A TOP Scottish chef has become the latest victim of moped thieves after his mobile phone was stolen in London.

Restaurateur Mark Greenaway was mugged on Monday as he visited the capital to attend the National Restaurant Awards in Fulham.

The 41-year-old chef, pictured, who has appeared as a guest on TV cookery programmes including BBC2’s The Great British Menu and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, went online to warn his fans of rising street crime.

He said: ‘Beware folks. Walking around London this morning and got my phone swiped straight out of my hand by a thug on a bike. Absolutely shocking. If you can’t even use your phone when you’re out and about, what are you meant to do? I am just another statistic.’

A friend of the AA Rosette-winning chef said: ‘He was unhurt but the whole thing took him by surprise.’

The chef’s Restaurant Mark Greenaway in Edinburgh was named in the Top 100 list at the awards evening.
