Airlines told to pay for delays
HOLIDAYMAKERS can claim up to £520 in compensation if they’re delayed on connecting flights outside of the European Union.
Under EU law, travellers can claim a payout if a flight is delayed more than three hours.
Now passengers taking two or more flights to a destination have the same rights as those who fly directly if they are part of the same booking. For flights of less than 1,500km, a three-hour delay nets a £220 payout. Those flying 3,500km or more, and arriving four hours late, could claim £520.
