McInnes moves to snap Irish midfielder Gleeson
ABERDEEN are on the brink of snapping up Irish international midfielder Stephen Gleeson. The 29-year-old left Ipswich Town at the end of the season after a short-term deal with the Portman Road side. Pittodrie boss Derek McInnes is set to tie up the former Birmingham City, Wolves and MK Dons star as he continues rebuilding the Pittodrie side for the new season. Gleeson has won four caps for Ireland and netted against Mexico in a friendly last summer. Aberdeen have already recruited Chris Forrester from Peterborough and Hamilton starlet Lewis Ferguson for the new campaign.
