Embarrassing own goal

-

AFTER the walkout at Westminster, SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford told us he wanted to ‘stand up for the people of Scotland’.

SNP members were due to speak at debates later that day, but were unable to do so because they had all walked out – to stand up for Scotland you have to be there!

They may have a point about the little time allocated to devolution and Brexit, but the juvenile, preplanned stunt on Wednesday was embarrassing and made Scotland look immature. WilliaM BallaNTiNe,

Bo’ness, West lothian. TALK about shooting yourself in the foot.

The SNP had the chance to discuss Brexit and its implications for Holyrood but its Westminster walkout prevented that happening.

And now the Nationalists have the cheek to claim it wasn’t a stunt!

JeNNy BRoWN, Glasgow. THE SNP walkout was pathetic. People need to realise these MPs do not represent Scotland – they represent the SNP. Not for much longer, we hope. KeiTH leSlie, Bonnyrigg,

Midlothian. HOW embarrassing to watch the SNP walk out of the House after Ian Blackford’s cringeworthy spat with the Speaker.

It is time these Nationalist MPs stopped trying to manufacture divisions between Scotland and England and realised we are still a United Kingdom.
