Search for park brawl gun suspect spreads to Europe
POLICE last night issued a fresh appeal for information in their hunt for a man wanted for the fatal shooting of a young father in Glasgow.
Officers yesterday urged anyone who knows the whereabouts of Jordan Owen, who is being sought in connection with the murder of Jamie Lee last July.
Police believe Owen may have left the country, and yesterday confirmed that a European Arrest Warrant has been issued for the 24-year-old.
Mr Lee, 23, was gunned down during a mass brawl at a children’s playpark in Castlemilk, Glasgow.
Within days of the shooting Police Scotland issued a photograph of Owen and offered a £5,000 reward to trace him.
It emerged yesterday that police suspect Owen has left the country and officers are working with other forces across Europe to track him.
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus of Police Scotland’s major investigations team, said: ‘We remain committed in tracing Jordan Owen who is wanted in connection with a large scale disturbance which took place on Saturday 8 July 2017 within Castlemilk.
‘A European Arrest Warrant has been issued after intelligence was received that he may have left the country.’
Mr Fergus added: ‘I must stress that any small piece of information may be vital to this investigation.’
