Proud of Scotland, not SNP
The SNP’s ‘spontaneous’ walkout at Westminster in support of Ian Blackford’s churlish and infantile behaviour filled me with weariness.
I am proud of my country. I am proud of those in the past who progressed philosophy, political economy, engineering, architecture, medicine, geology, archaeology, law, agriculture, chemistry and sociology during the period of Scottish Enlightenment, and I am proud of those who still do so today.
However, I am ashamed of my Government that sits in Holyrood.
It has no moral compass and has a singular political aim based on archaic ideology that belongs in the dark ages. Political posturing is the norm, competent government is non-existent.
My Government’s legacy has been to cause division at home and cheapen Scotland’s world standing abroad.
Proud of my country – ashamed of my Government.

THAT Alex Salmond now wants to claim credit (Mail) for the idea of the Nationalist MPs walking out of Prime Minister’s Questions at Westminster rather confirms that while these theatrics might play well to the SNP core support, others will feel all the more determined to ignore the Nationalists’ continued attempts to stir grievance.
