WHITE

Falanghina Beneventano 2017, £7.50, M&S THIS cheerful Italian white comes from the vineyards of Campania. You can almost smell the lemon groves, and the wine itself has plenty of oomph, crisp with lots of citrus flavours. A perfect summer white.

Fontaine de Sud Costieres de Nimes 2016, £8, Spar A BRILLIANT southern Rhone red made mostly from the Grenache grape, packed with smooth dark fruit flavours and a herbal whiff that gives it a lovely warm rustic edge.

La Farra Prosecco Extra Dry, £12.99, thefizzcompany.com A SLEEK fizz from Prosecco’s smarter vineyards, it’s got a bit more sweetness than your average ‘brut’. Think pears with a little sugar sprinkled on them and you get the idea.
