Four men in hospital after street attacks
A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital following a murder bid and three others have been injured in a city centre attack.
Police say the 57-year-old was seriously assaulted by a man at 12.20am yesterday in Glasgow’s Hope Street. Officers closed the city centre road while experts carried out an investigation.
It is not known what triggered the attack but it is understood no weapons were involved.
The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary then transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
He is in a critical condition and it is understood police have not been able to talk to him to establish the facts. Detectives are

seeking CCTV footage from the surrounding area and have appealed for witnesses.
Detective Inspector Kevin Gilmour said: ‘It is vital we find out who is responsible. Officers are trying to establish a description of the suspect.’
In Edinburgh, three men aged 26, 31 and 32 were taken to hospital following reports of a stabbing near Princes Street at 3.45am. One is thought to have sustained serious injuries.
The men were treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service then admitted to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Police closed Queensferry Street while forensic officers investigated the scene.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
